When we got inquire from Mr. Thomas, their company are just running a new project. In this project, they need handle a batch of copper rods into smaller size copper wire. The copper rods diameter about 9mm, and the finished copper wire should be around diameter 3.6mm.

According the Mr. Thomas request, our engineer offered a solution: Using a series wire drawing dies to drawing the copper rods into copper wire.

Considering it is copper material, we recommend choosing high hardness K20 grade tungsten carbide as the working material for drawing.
From 9.0mm to 3.6mm, the diameter reduce as much as 60%, It is impossible to drawing by one die. We analysis copper and tungsten carbide, calculate the drawing deformation, and then confirmed that we need 11 different size tungsten carbide wire drawing dies as a series to make it.

After Mr. Thomas and his engineers approve the solution, we arrange produce one series sample for quality test. As the feedback from Mr. Thomas: the drawing process are very gliding and fast, the copper wires get smooth and clean surface after drawing, it don’t even need a further processing.
